A rocky start doesn’t quite do justice to how Notre Dame has faired this season in the ACC.
It was obvious that there would be growing pains. The youthful Irish have leaned heavily on junior John Mooney, who is just as inexperienced in his leadership position as the freshmen are playing at the college level.
Take a few players out of the rotation due to injury and you have an inevitable 1-7 start to the conference season for the Irish.
That “1” in the win column is the only real bright spot from the month of January.
