CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein reported that sources have told him that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish will take on the Illinois Fighting Illini in the 2021 ACC / Big 10 Challenge. According to the tweet, Illinois will host the Irish in Champaign, Illinois.
It will be the first time since 2018 (another ACC / Big 10 Challenge) that the Irish and Illini will play on the hardwood. This, however, is a series that has a decent amount of history.
Notre Dame and Illinois have played 42 times in the past, with the Illini holding a strong 27-15 advantage over the Irish.
