Notre Dame Recruiting: 3 Rumors You Need To Know With One Week Until Signing Day

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in the process of putting together yet another great recruiting class under head coach Brian Kelly. The Fighting Irish already have one of the best classes in the nation, but they aren't done yet. They're making a strong push during the last week of recruiting as we head towards National Signing Day on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Here are 3 rumors you need to know for Notre Dame Football Recruiting with one week until Signing Day.

Top Target Sets Decision Date
Four-star DB Jordan Fuller is being heavily recruited by several big schools, and Fuller announced on Twitter Monday that he'll make his decision on Feb. 1st.

Fuller is ranked as the No. 41 prospect by 247Sports, although he's No. 130 in their composite rankings. Fuller has in-home visits set up with Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State today, with Kelly and the Irish between the Wolverines and Buckeyes. The Buckeyes are currently the favorites to land Fuller. Irish Visit five-Star LB
Caleb Kelly is a five-star LB and ranked as the No. 25 overall player. Notre Dame paid him an in-home visit Tuesday, in an attempt to land Kelly. However, 247Sports expects the Irish won't end up with Kelly.

"I don't believe Notre Dame did enough to sway him back to the Irish at this point," writes Tom Loy of 247Sports.com. "However, they gave Kelly a ton to think about and consider before he announces his commitment next week. This battle is much closer now than it was just 24 hours prior."

It seems that it's down to Oklahoma and Notre Dame for Kelly. Check out the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app for more on Kelly.

Notre Dame Won't Flip Four-Star WR?
Nate Johnson took an official visit to Notre Dame this weekend, leading many to suspect he'd flip from Michigan to Notre Dame. However, Loy says that won't be the case.

"At this point, I'm confident Johnson will not end up in South Bend," Loy wrote on 247Sports.com. "From everything I'm told, although the visit went well, he is not likely a recruit Notre Dame will pursue moving forward. As long as he still has a spot in Ann Arbor, I expect the talented prospect to end up at Michigan ... I'm confident, as others in our 247Sports network can attest, Johnson would have likely ended up in South Bend come Signing Day. However, without going into too much unnecessary detail at this point, I'm told things just didn't work out."

Loy doesn't explain what change that caused the Irish pull back on Johnson, although his status could change. Demetris Robertson is the only WR the Irish are targeting at the moment, and they'll visit him Thursday. The five-star WR is the No. 14 overall recruit and the Irish are battling the likes of Georgia and Alabama for Johnson.
