QPR set to appoint former Norwich boss as their new manager after putting Marti Cifuentes on gardening leave following West Brom talks

Former Norwich City manager Johannes Hoff Thorup is set to take over as the next boss of Queens Park Rangers.

Barely a month since leaving Carrow Road, Thorup, 36, has been lined up for a return to the Championship after impressing in talks.

QPR placed Marti Cifuentes on gardening leave after it emerged that he had spoken to West Brom about their managerial vacancy, and now Thorup is in line to succeed the Spaniard at Loftus Road.

Thorup was dismissed by Norwich following an Easter Monday defeat at Millwall which was part of a downturn in form that included six defeats from 10 games.
