Mentality or tactics: What can save USWNT's World Cup quest?

AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- If it has looked to you like the players on the United States women's national team aren't having as much fun as they could be during this Women's World Cup, they'd be the first to agree.

Asked what's been missing from this World Cup campaign so far, captain Lindsey Horan on Thursday highlighted a lack of joy on the field.

"It's that confidence, that belief in ourselves to do what we are most special at -- each of us individually, but also as a team -- and also finding the joy in it," Horan said, and promised: "Once we get a little bit more of that joy back and that feeling, things are going to move a bit better.
