Three Norwich City loan players were in action over the weekend, with Reece McAlear going close to netting a winner for Inverness Caledonian Thistle in their Scottish League Cup tie against Stirling Albion.
The Premier Sports Cup is in the group stage of the competition north of the border and, having started Inverness’ opening group game, a 2-0 win over Peterhead, McAlear dropped to the bench for the Saturday’s home match against Stirling.
However, with the scores level at 2-2, he came off the bench with seven minutes of the match remaining and almost got the winner.
