Brighton have shown an interest in Nicklas Bendtner but have competition from fellow Championship club Norwich.
Bendtner, who is currently without a club after his contract at Wolfsburg was terminated, is holding out for a return to the Premier League.
That opportunity has not yet presented itself and the 28-year-old could have to settle for the second tier of England football.
As a free agent, Bendtner is under no pressure to pick a club before the transfer window shuts on Wednesday.
