Bournemouth HIJACK Max Aarons deal with last minute swoop worth £7m - after Norwich defender looked set for reunion with old boss Daniel Farke at Leeds

Bournemouth look to have won the race for Norwich defender Max Aarons, the PA news agency understands.

Leeds had agreed a deal with the Canaries and the England Under 21 international looked set to move to Elland Road.

But Bournemouth made a late move on Wednesday - with the initial fee understood to be £7million rising to £12m - to scupper Leeds boss Daniel Farke's hopes of a reunion with Aarons, who he gave a senior debut to at Norwich.

Southampton held a long-standing interest and also struck a deal with the Canaries - following Tino Livramento's move to Newcastle - but could now also miss out.
