Norwich City have signed midfielder Jacob Wright from Manchester City for a fee of £2.3m.

The 19-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the option for a further 12 months having spent the second half of the season on loan at Carrow Road, making 15 appearances.

The Canaries are still without a head coach following the sacking of Johannes Hoff Thorup and the decision not to consider interim boss Jack Wilshere for the role on a full-time basis.

But they have gone ahead with plans to recruit Wright on a permanent basis and the deal will be completed on 1 June.
