Arsenal 'join rivals Tottenham in the race to sign £30m-rated Norwich star Max Aarons'... but they will NOT meet his valuation as cash-strapped Mikel Arteta prepares for a difficult summer

Arsenal are interested in signing defender Max Aarons this summer but will not pay the £30million fee Norwich are demanding, according to Goal.

Mikel Arteta is in the market for defensive additions when the transfer window reopens and has identified Aarons as the perfect competition for Hector Bellerin.

The 20-year-old star has enjoyed a fine debut season in the Premier League, appearing 26 times for the relegation-threatened Canaries.

Aarons' form has also attracted interest from the Gunners' north London rivals Tottenham - and it appears Jose Mourinho may have the advantage.
