Alan Shearer blasts 'shambolic' failure to award Chelsea a penalty in FA Cup clash with Norwich despite use of VAR

A night of 'carnage' at Stamford Bridge saw the Video Assistant Referee system branded a 'shambles' and 'shocking' as Chelsea relied on penalties to beat Norwich in their FA Cup replay.

The third-round tie went the distance after a 90th-minute header from 19-year-old Jamal Lewis cancelled out Michy Batshuayi's opener in normal time.

Yet the game was then overshadowed by controversy as referee Graham Scott denied Chelsea what they felt was a clear penalty and sent off Pedro then Alvaro Morata.
