Northwestern wide receiver Charlie Fessler announced Monday evening his intention to transfer to another institution for his final year of eligibility. In a tweet, he said he will graduate early following this academic quarter and intends to play as a graduate transfer during the 2019 season.
Fessler has logged 10 catches for 101 yards in 2018, including three catches for 38 yards in the Big Ten Championship against Ohio State. The 6-foot-3 receiver has snagged 14 career passes for 174 yards in his three-year Wildcat career.
Northwestern will miss the veteran receiver in 2019, but it will return every other relevant pass-catcher besides Flynn Nagel.
