Northwestern women’s golf finished fifth at the Icon Intercollegiate in Houston, Texas, on Tuesday, marking another strong finish for the Wildcats. The stroke-play event featured the top five golfers on each of the 13 participating teams, whose scores were combined over three rounds to form the team leaderboard.
NU’s top finisher was sophomore Irene Kim. She finished the three-round event at nine-under-par, good for fourth place overall and five strokes behind the event’s winner, Rina Tatematsu of Oklahoma State. Kim outplayed LSU’s Ingrid Lindblad, the country’s top-ranked golfer, who finished seven-under-par.
Kim wasn’t the only strong finisher on the team.
