Tennis: Top-10 women’s squad continues winning, men gain momentum

No. 7 Northwestern women’s tennis (14-2, 10-1 B1G) extended its winning streak to four games, defeating conference bottom-feeders Purdue and Indiana 4-0 each, while men’s tennis (7-4, 6-3 B1G) matched those results accordingly.

Women’s tennis

After securing the doubles point, the ‘Cats rode strong single performances from Clarissa Hand (no. 3 singles), Caroline Pozo (no. 5 singles) and Christina Hand (no. 6 singles) to sweep the Boilermakers. The Hand sisters made quick work of their opponents, yielding a combined four games between them. Pozo fought off Purdue’s Rut Galindo in the first set 7-5 before dominating the second 6-1 to seal the Wildcat victory.
