Most of the college sports headlines on February 1 belonged to football recruits. However, high school signees from numerous sports were recognized around the nation on that day. Quinn Lavelle, a Northwestern baseball recruit, was one of 28 student-athletes to take part in a signing day ceremony at St. Edward High School in Lakewood, Ohio. The event was attended by local media, many happy parents and scores of fellow students.
Lavelle, a left handed pitcher, has been a starter for three years at St. Edward. Eagles head baseball coach Matt Rosinski is very confident in Lavelle’s ability to succeed at the Big Ten level.
