Unfortunately, there isn’t much of an update on the quarterback competition at Northwestern. None of the three quarterbacks competing — TJ Green, Aidan Smith or Andrew Marty — have separated themselves from the rest, according to quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator Mick McCall. He said the position is fluid at the moment.
Given how inexperienced Green, Smith and Marty are, it will probably take until Kenosha in the summer for a clearer depth chart to emerge.
The wild card in all of this is Clayton Thorson’s health. Thorson was in pads and throwing Saturday, but didn’t participate in any drills.
