Northwestern women's basketball is really good. Any doubt of that was dispelled four minutes into today's game against UNC as the Wildcats sprinted out to a 15-2 lead en route to an easy 85-72 win at Chapel Hill that wasn't even as close as the score indicates.
It was a complete domination on both sides of the ball early as Northwestrn shot 51 percent from the field and scored a season high 52 points in the first half. In the second half, The Tar Heels made a late run to cut their deficit to nine with about two minutes left to play, but it wouldn't be enough as a Maggie Lyon three-pointer put the Wildcats back up 12 late and allowed them to coast to victory.
