On a brisk Saturday Night in Evanston, Illinois, fans saw a little bit of everything when the #17 ranked Northwestern Wildcats played host to the Ball State Cardinals.
Both teams got out to slow starts in the first half.
Ball State opened the scoring with a 30 yard field goal. The rest of the first half consisted of only two touchdowns.
Northwestern and quarterback Clayton Thorson followed that up when he connected on a 66 yard pass and catch for a touchdown with Dan Vitale. This was the only score the Wildcats managed against a stingy Ball State defense in the first half.
