Northwestern unofficially begins its 2016-2017 campaign versus University of Illinois Springfield in a scrimmage at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

Chris Collins hopes that a strong contingent of returners as well as impressive newcomers Barret Benson and Isiah Brown can help advance the program forward. The former Duke assistant is in his fourth year at the helm in Evanston and is yet to qualify for postseason play.
