Northwestern will be without senior linebacker Jaylen Prater for the second-straight week when it takes on Purdue this Saturday.
The Ohio native suffered an injury against Ohio State; he was the team’s second-leading tackler when he went out. Prater had been a solid run-defender for the Wildcat defense after returning from season-ending knee injury he suffered last season.
Brett Walsh will start again in place of Prater, and Joe Jones will see more playing time. Pat Fitzgerald called Walsh’s performance against Wisconsin last week “competitive,” though he struggled at times against the Badgers’ mammoth offensive line.
