In his Monday press conference, Pat Fitzgerald revealed some solemn injury news for the Northwestern offensive line.
Adam DePietro, a fourth-year junior, is done for the year after undergoing surgery over the bye week. DePietro suffered a serious-looking lower-body injury against Eastern Illinois and had not appeared since, although he had not been ruled out for the year until just today.
Fitzgerald didn't go into detail on the exact type of injury or procedure the 6-foot-5, 295-pounder native underwent, but he did confirm that the Lancaster, PA native is done for the year.
