Late Saturday night, Northwestern picked up its first wide receiver commitment of the 2018 class in three-star Texas native Jacob Jefferson.
Jefferson, who 247’s composite ranking lists as the 162nd-best receiver in the 2018 class, held offers from Rice, New Mexico and McNeese State. Northwestern was his lone Power 5 offer, but he had also received some interest from Michigan and Notre Dame.
Jefferson attended St. Pius X high school in Houston, the same high school that produced a similarly under-recruited athlete who excelled at Northwestern — a guy by the name of Venric Mark.
