Northwestern adds three-star tight end/defensive end Trevor Kent to Class of 2017

Trevor Kent, a three-star tight end out of Pittsburg, Kansas (Pittsburg High School) has committed to Northwestern. Kent made the announcement on Twitter Wednesday.

Kent had offers from several major schools from across the country, most notably Oklahoma, but also Big Ten rivals Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska and Penn State. He also picked Northwestern over in-state options Kansas and Kansas State.

Listed at 6-foot-5, 253 pounds, Kent is an impressive athlete with speed in the 4.80 range. He is the sixth player to commit to Northwestern's Class of 2017, following linebacker Blake Gallagher, offensive lineman Sam Gerak, defensive lineman Sam Miller, offensive lineman Rashawn Slater and defensive lineman Earnest Brown.
