On Thursday, Northwestern announced the arrival of graduate transfer long snapper (!!!) Trevor Stroebel, who transferred to the school after earning a degree in three years at Georgia Tech.
Because he completed his degree in three years, Stroebel has two years of eligibility left as a grad student in Evanston. He is eligible to participate immediately and has joined the Wildcats in Kenosha for practice.
After appearing in 20 games in his first two years, Stroebel missed his junior season due to injury. Right now, Northwestern is set at long snapper with senior Chris Fitzpatrick, but it appears that Stroebel could take over next year, assuming he can beat out walk-on freshman Tyler Gillikin (clearly a key position battle we will keep an eye on once the time comes).
