NFL Preseason Week 2 Recap: Touchdown Trevor has all but won the starting job in Denver again

The second week of the NFL Preseason has come and gone. Here are your Northwestern-oriented highlights.

128.2. That was Trevor Siemian’s passer rating in his second preseason game, all but sealing up Denver’s starting job for him. Paxton Lynch (9-13, 39 yards) got the chance to start, but he was quickly outshined by Siemian’s methodical touchdown drive with the second-stringers, which was capped off by this phenomenal back-shoulder throw:

Siemian finished the game 8-for-11 for 93 yards and a touchdown, which, when combined with Lynch’s mediocrity, should be enough to cement the opening day starting spot for him for a second straight year.
