NFL Combine 2016: Northwestern's Dan Vitale runs 4.58 40-yard dash

Former Northwestern superback Dan Vitale run a 4.61 unofficial 40-yard dash in his first attempt at the NFL Combine on Friday. Vitale, who is working out with the running backs in an attempt to transition to a fullback in the NFL, will run a second time later Friday.

Here is video of his first run:

Vitale's first time was better than top-rated fullback Glenn Gronkowski of Kansas State, who ran a 4.72, unofficially. It was also better than fellow fulback Soma Vainuku of USC, who ran 4.67.

On Thursday, Vitale managed to complete 30 bench press reps of 225 pounds, the most in his position group.
