Linebacker Jaylen Prater out for the rest of the season

Northwestern linebacker Jaylen Prater is out for the remainder of the 2015 season after undergoing knee surgery to fix an injury that he suffered on the first play from scrimmage against Penn State on Nov. 7.

The junior outside linebacker from Hamden, Ohio saw his first significant playing time this season as a starter after playing as a reserve earlier in his career. Prater was fourth on the team in tackles with 46 on the season.

Nate Hall, a talented redshirt freshman, filled in for Prater against Penn State, making 10 tackles including a crucial third-down stop late in the contest.
