Northwestern women’s basketball (17-14, 9-9 B1G) will take on Toledo (21-11, 11-7 MAC) in just a couple of hours with a spot in the Sweet 16 of the women’s NIT.
The Rockets are hosting the contest after taking down Seton Hall in the first round. The Wildcats, coming off of a blowout win over Dayton, will attempt to expand on their postseason victory in five years.
Toledo comes out of a strong conference — the MAC sent two teams (eighth-seeded Central Michigan and tenth-seeded Buffalo) to the NCAA Tournament this year. But the Rockets have just one common opponent with Northwestern.
