Northwestern’s 2018 recruiting class got off to a fast start, as quarterback Jason Whittaker of Rockford, Michigan, committed on Saturday.
Whittaker, a three-star pro-style quarterback per 247 Sports, committed just two weeks after receiving an offer. He visited Northwestern this weekend.
Pat Fitzgerald has traditionally taken one quarterback in each recruiting class, and he locked up Whittaker early. The sophomore has offers from Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Indiana, Iowa State, Western Michigan, and Wisconsin, and has taken visits to Michigan, Michigan State, and Penn State. Fitz was noticeably happy to get the guy he wanted.
