UNI's NCAA Tournament collapse makes cringe-worthy ESPN list

Just when the wound of postseason heartbreak had more or less healed, along comes ESPN to pick at Northern Iowa's NCAA Tournament scab.

The national outlet compiled a list of what it deems the 25 worst collapses in the history of sports. And lo and behold, UNI's double-overtime loss to Texas A&M in Oklahoma City this past March has made the list, albeit at a somewhat less gut-wrenching 22nd.

Why did that defeat make this list of 25? We'll let ESPN explain:

"Upset-minded Northern Iowa led Texas A&M 69-57 with 44 seconds left in a second-round game when the third-seeded Aggies -- desperate for a spark -- resorted to a suffocating full-court press that shoved UNI into the biggest final-minute collapse in NCAA Division I history.
