ST. LOUIS --- UNI redshirt-junior thrower Katie Fare has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Female Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday afternoon. The selection marks Fare's first weekly honor from the conference.
Fare's recognition comes after a standout performance at the SDSU Indoor Classic last weekend where she set a new career-best in the shot put with a toss of 54 feet, 8.75 inches (16.68 meters) to take home first place.
Her career mark ranks 2nd best in UNI history, one foot and 8.
