HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. – UNI wrestling's Julian Farber avenged a first-round loss to take fourth, and Jack Wagner earned seventh place at the Matmen Open.
Three UNI wrestlers remained alive in the consolations after the first day of the 2021 Matmen Open. Ethan Basile had to drop out of this morning's matches at 141 pounds, leaving two Panthers to compete in the 133-pound weight class.
Farber, a freshman from Bonaire, Georgia, opened the day with a win over Kurt Phipps of Bucknell, winning in a 5-1 decision. He then took on Carter Bailey of Lehigh, who kept Farber scoreless in their first meeting.
