CEDAR FALLS, Ia. — The Northern Iowa wrestling team fell to No. 19 Kent State on Saturday.
UNI got off to a strong start from Dylan Peters at 125 pounds and Josh Alber at 133. Peters, the seventh-ranked wrestler at 125, won by a 15-6 major decision over Del Vinas. Albers won by forfeit and the Panthers led 10-0.
Kent State (13-3, 7-1 MAC) won the next seven matches until 285-pounder Blaize Cabell won by a 9-6 decision over Stephen Suglio.
UNI (3-9, 2-5) travels to North Dakota State next Saturday.
