The Northern Iowa women’s basketball team defeated Wichita State 69-48 on Sunday.
A 14-point run in the second quarter gave the Panthers a 29-19 lead, and they mostly cruised from there.
Three Panthers scored in double figures, led by Madison Weekly’s game-high 19 points. The junior moved past the 1,000-point plateau during the contest.
Sharnae Lamar and Amber Sorenson were the Panthers’ other double-digit scorers.
The Panthers moved into a tie for second in the Missouri Valley Conference with the win.
Up next for UNI (13-9, 8-3 Missouri Valley) is a 6 p.m. Friday matchup at Indiana State.
