INDIANAPOLIS — The University of Northern Iowa women’s basketball program picked up a 69-62 season-opening win over the IUPUI Jaguars on Friday night with a fourth-quarter rally.
UNI held a 12-point lead at one point in the game, but the Panthers found themselves down by a point in the fourth quarter. Thanks to a hot hand from sophomore Ellie Herzberg, the Panthers regained the lead and sealed the win.
Herzberg finished the game with a career-high 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field, adding two steals and five rebounds. Madison Weekly added 15 points and five assists, while Hannah Schonhardt contributed 11 points and six boards.
