SPRINGFIELD, Missouri – The UNI volleyball team defeated the Crusaders of Valparaiso in the MVC semifinal match on Friday night. The Panthers defeated the Crusaders in four-set and will take on the Illinois State Redbirds in the MVC Championship match.
The Panthers have never lost a match to the Crusaders entering the contest and it was obvious from the start the Crusaders were looking to break that trend.
Close sets and intense back and forth action kept fans on their toes but the Panthers managed to pull ahead after splitting the first two sets. The Panthers took the third set 25-21 and closed out the match in the fourth with a 25-22 set win.
