ST. LOUIS --- UNI junior Carter Morton has been named the Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) Male Field Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league office on Wednesday morning. The selection marks Morton's second time receiving a weekly conference honor in his career, and first since January 2022.
Morton's recognition comes after a breakout performance during his first meet of the 2022-23 indoor season last weekend at the ISU Holiday Invitational in Ames, where he recorded the fourth highest Heptathlon score in UNI history with 5,651 points, which currently ranks as the top score in the event in the nation.
