Northern Iowa released its 2017 football schedule Tuesday morning, featuring five home games and another opportunity for an FBS win.
Mark Farley’s squad will open the 2017 campaign at Iowa State on either Aug. 31 or Sept. 2, marking the 19th straight season UNI has faced at least one FBS opponent. The Panthers and Cyclones have met 10 out of the last 16 years — the most recent matchup ending in a 25-20 UNI victory this past season.
The Panthers will continue their nonconference slate each of the next two weeks, starting with their Sept. 9 home opener against Cal Poly and continuing with a road trip to Southern Utah on Sept.
