CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - The UNI women's tennis team topped St. Thomas 6-1 but fell to Southern Illinois Edwardsville 6-1 in the Panthers' home openers.
The Panthers put on a great performance against St. Thomas (0-5) on Friday, winning all the doubles matches and losing just one singles match.
At the No. 1 and 2 spots, freshmen Darta Dalecka and Lorena Cardoso had strong performances. Dalecka dropped the first set but won the last two, while Cardoso got the win with no difficulties, winning six straight games in the second set.
