EVANSVILLE, Ind. - The University of Northern Iowa women's tennis team recorded its first Missouri Valley Conference victory of the season Sunday in a 7-0 triumph at Evansville.
UNI got the match underway by taking both No. 1 and No. 2 doubles. It marks the sixth time this seaosn that UNI began a match by scoring the doubles point.
UNI's No. 1 doubles pairing of Jieke Stroobant and Elvira Lopez cruised to a 6-0 sweep of UE's Marina Darzyan and Doreen Crasta. UNI's No. 2 doubles squad of Astrid Santos and Gisela Kemper topped UE's Marina Moreno and Andjela Brguljan, 6-1.
