Box Score EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Northern Iowa softball team earned a series-clinching win over Evansville on Saturday, downing the Aces 2-1 in a low-scoring ballgame. The Panthers (24-9, 4-2 MVC) recorded four hits while Evansville had just three in a pitchers duel between Chelsea Ross and the Aces' Morgan Florey.
Ross shutout streak against the Aces ended in the opening inning as she surrendered her first run on a solo home run since the third inning of a 10-2 win over Evansville in 2014. The senior found her groove shortly after as she kept the Aces off the board for the remainder of the game, striking out a career-high 12 batters in seven innings of work.
