CEDAR FALLS, Iowa – The UNI Swimming and Diving team is conducting a crowdfunding project to bring equipment up to competitive standards in the Glen F. Henry Swimming and Diving Pool.
The Panthers use the Wellness and Recreation Center for its practices and competitions. The WRC opened in 1998 as a top-of-the-line facility with the most up-to-date equipment for swimming and diving. As with most sports, swimming has evolved, and the starting blocks have now changed to the point that they alter the way starts for individual events and relays are performed.
In addition to making UNI student-athletes better, updating the WRC starting blocks will allow UNI to come into code with requirements to host high school championships and USA swimming meets.
