CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- UNI softball closed out the annual Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic with a close loss against in-state rival Iowa State.
It was a fight to the finish in the finale of the Doc Halverson UNI-Dome Classic as the Panthers and Cyclones battled through seven. Iowa State would come out on top after a two inning rally by UNI in the sixth and seventh would come two runs short of winning. The Panthers ended the tournament with a record of 2-2-0 to begin the 2022 season.
The first two innings of the matchup between the Panthers and the Cyclones would be fairly quiet with only four runners reaching base between the two teams.
