CEDAR FALLS, Iowa --- In a rematch of the 2022 Missouri Valley Conference (MVC) quarterfinal, UNI soccer again emerged victorious over the UIC Flames 1-0 on Thursday afternoon at UNI Soccer Field. Maddie Eastus scored the game's lone goal in the 60th minute on an assist from Olivia Knoepfle after the Panthers withstood a consistent Flames attack in the opening half.
Thursday's contest marked the first meeting between the sides since their 2022 postseason matchup, which ended with the Panthers beating the Flames in a penalty kick shootout. Thursday's match was played with a postseason-esque intensity, as the game featured three yellow cards and 16 combined fouls.
