The University of Northern Iowa department of athletics has announced its January Student-Athletes of the Month sponsored by Transamerica as voted on by the Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
This months' honorees are Blaize Cabell (Independence, Iowa), Veronica Herrmann (Bismarck, N.D.), Isaac Holtz (Monticello, Iowa) and Amber Sorenson (Caledonia, Minn.).
Blaize Cabell - Wrestling
Senior heavyweight Blaize Cabell is the scoring leader in team duals for wrestling. He scored bonus points in four of his six matches in January. He went 5-1 in duals, staying perfect in conference competition. He notched two falls, pinning Northern Illinois' Arthur Bunce in 2 minutes, 27 seconds and Andrew Snyder of Old Dominion in 4:35.
