CEDAR FALLS, Iowa - UNI men's basketball's Goanar Mar will be stepping away from athletics.
Lingering injuries played a huge role in the decision for Mar, who transferred to UNI last season.
"Goanar recently made the very difficult decision to step away from the game of basketball," said head coach Ben Jacobson. "He has been a tremendous teammate and worker since joining our program. I appreciate all of the time Goanar has dedicated to the game. His daily example has had a real impact on our team. We will continue to support Goanar every way we can as he works to earn his degree in the spring and prepares himself for life following graduation.
