A black University of Northern Iowa student says another student used a racial slur against her, spat in her face and told her to "go back to where (she) came from."
The woman tweeted the allegation early Friday morning, and the post has been widely shared on social media. The student she accuses is white and apparently a former member of the UNI men's track and field team.
The man's name has been widely disseminated, but the Register is not identifying him because the accusation could not immediately be corroborated. UNI said in an email sent to students and employees that it was investigating.
