ST. LOUIS --- UNI linebacker Spencer Cuvelier has been named to the Missouri Valley Football Conference's (MVFC) Scholar-Athlete Second Team, as announced by the league office on Monday morning.
39 total student-athletes from around the MVFC were honored on first, second and honorable mention teams for their academic success during the 2022 season. Illinois State quarterback Zack Annexstad led the way, being voted as the league's Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
Criteria for the selection as an MVFC Scholar-Athlete parallels the CSC (College Sports Communicators) standards for Academic All-America voting. Nominees must be starters or important reserves with at least a 3.
