GREEN BAY, Wisc. --- Former UNI defensive back Benny Sapp III has been signed by the Green Bay Packers as a free agent, as announced by the team on Monday afternoon following the conclusion of this past week's NFL Draft in Kansas City.
Sapp, a native of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is the first UNI defensive back to sign with an NFL team since Elijah Campbell inked a free agent deal with the Cleveland Browns in 2018.
A two-time First Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference (MVFC) defender, Sapp led the league with four interceptions in 2022 during his senior season with one forced fumble.
