OXFORD, Miss. – The University of Northern Iowa softball team fell in their rematch with Ole Miss on Sunday afternoon, 1-0. The Panthers (11-5) recorded one hit in the pitchers' duel, as both teams combined for five hits on the day.
It was a pitching and defensive duel for the first three innings as both squads opened up the game with singles before being held hit-less until the bottom of the fourth inning. Chelsea Ross finished with a season-high 11 strikeouts, including back-to-back strikeouts to end the fourth inning with an Ole Miss runner in scoring position.
